RHETORIC & COMMUNICATION
The art of persuasion and eloquence. I’m an expert in rhetoric, and I’m dedicated to teaching people how to be better rhetors and communicators.
Since I could first hold a pencil, I’ve been designing. (Now I use Photoshop & InDesign, mostly.) I specialize in layout, typography, and (non-pretentious) minimalism.
WRITING & EDITING
I would like to think that even if this whole “digital strategy” thing doesn’t work out, I could still find work as a writer. Anyone? Bueller? “WILL PROSE FOR FOOD.”
Web designs, branding / visual identity, advertising campaigns, crowdfunding projects, teams of experts—I’ve managed (or helped manage) them all.
HERE’S THE THING
I’m a problem solver and professional rhetorician—that is, I help people succeed by helping them communicate better. I’ve worked with folks ranging from independent filmmakers to international ad agencies, from non-profit think tanks to Penguin Publishing.
I’m all about principles and integration—that is, understanding truths about communication/media and being able to apply those truths to specific situations. Informed action. Principled practice.
Understanding your needs, your situation, and your audience is at the heart of everything I do. At the intersection of these components lies the perfect strategy waiting to be discovered and the tactics we’ll use to enact it.
I’m most comfortable with idea products—things that strive to revolutionize their field or the culture. I’m employed full-time, but I consult on occassion. Let’s change the world together. Seriously.
